Rehearsal Facilities

In the 1970's, with the assistance of the Local Council, the Band bult a new Bandroom in the playing fields at Rowley Place, Rushall, Walsall. Over the years since it has been developed into a acoustically-sound and purpose-built, modern Bandroom designed to cater for the finest Championship Section Brass Bands.

Sadly the positioning of the Bandroom has meant that it was always the victim of vandalism, which in the early days was quite minor and tolerable. However into the 2000's, the level and ferocity of the attacks on the building and individuals reached an unacceptable level - so much so that the Band were forced to move out in 2003.

Since that time the Band has used various facilities and currently rehearse in two Schools, on a Wednesday and Friday evening from 8.00pm.

On Wednesdays, rehearsals are held in either the Main Hall, or Music Room 3, of the Arthur Terry School, Kittoe Road, Mere Green, Sutton Coldfield, B74 4RZ.

Friday evening rehearsals are held in the Hospitality Suite of Walsall Academy, Lichfield Road, Bloxwich, Walsall, WS3 3LX.

The Staffordshire Band would like to thank both the Arthur Terry School and Walsall Academy for the kind use of their fantastic facilities - the Band would not be where it is today without their help.

The Band is still on the lookout for a new Bandroom which, ideally, has the following features:-

• acoustically sound
• safe and secure parking
• storage facilities for the Band's Library and heavy/bulky instruments (including percussion)
• variable access times for rehearsals and loading/unloading of equipment
• sized around 1800 sq. ft.
• situated within the outer ring of this map
